Diy Coachella Flower Crown

Hey guys! This is a cool way to make a flower crown without spending big money to buy one at a store. It is also super cute, too 🙂 The materials are inexpensive and easily accessible.

Materials needed:

-Gardener’s Twine/rope

-Some flowers of your choosing

-Glue (I’d recommend a hot glue gun for stronger stickage)

-Masking tape or gardener’s tape

-Wire cutters or strong scissors

Step 1:  Firstly, you are going to take the gardener’s twine and loosely wrap it around your head to measure the size you want it to come out to. Once you get the size you like, add another wrapping of twine so the crown’s base will be more stable. Then to keep the shape, twist the twine around itself to interlock it so it doesn’t come undone. If you like, you can use the gardener’s tape or masking tape and wrap it around the closure.

Step 2:  Next, take your flowers (fake) and gently pluck them off the stem. If they don’t pluck off easily, you can cut them off. Then place them around the crown to get an idea of what you want your crown to look like. This helps you see how it will turn out and you can get really creative.

Step 3: Once you have the flower arrangement you like, go ahead and take your hot glue gun (or whatever glue you have) and start gluing the flowers on, one by one, pressing down on the flower to ensure the best stick. (Careful not to burn yourself with the hot glue gun!)  *I used 3 different types of flowers so I glued the first type on first, then the second type, then the third, lastly I glued leaves on to give the crown a more natural look.

Step 4:  You’re all done! There is no right way to making this crown. You can be as creative as you like 🙂 Have fun and happy DIY’ing 😀

Diy Clouds In a Jar

This is a really awesome diy craft and it is very simple to do and the end result looks amazing. Here are a list of materials you will need:

-Jar with a lid (can be any size; I used a fairly small one)

-Cotton Balls

-Blue Glitter Glue

-Blue Food Coloring

-Water

-Toothpick

Step 1:  For the fist step, you should take your cotton balls and pull them/stretch them out so they look extra puffy. This will ensure that the “clouds” will look more realistic instead of cotton balls stacked on top of each other. Once they are stretched out, start to put them in the jar.

Step 2:  After you put 1 cotton ball in (if your jar is as small as mine, if its bigger you can add more of them), get your water and pour about half of a shot glass full and take the toothpick and stick it in the top of the blue food coloring to get a tiny bit of coloring. (You don’t want too much or else the water color will be too dark blue) Stir the toothpick in the water and then pour the colored water into the jar.

Step 3:  Use the toothpick to make sure the cotton ball is completely soaked with light blue water. Essentially, you want to repeat this step again and again until you fill up the jar. If you want to add a little dimension, you can take the glitter glue and apply it to random areas to give it an added decorative look. (You can see this better in the video) Also, in random spots, stick the toothpick in the food coloring and to give the clouds some darker blue areas, poke around and add some darker spots. If you incorporate the glitter glue and darker blue spots every couple layers, it gives it a great effect.

Step 4:  You’re done! Once the jar is filled to the top, close the lid and sit back and admire your work! I hope you enjoyed this diy craft and I will have more on the way, stay tuned! 😀
